JPG updates
i was expecting to get totally flamed for my post, but actually i got a lot of nice emails from people yesterday. i just wanted to link to a few things that were posted since yesterday morning.
derek posted a response on his blog, but left out any mention of me or my post, which is really the reason he was forced to make another post. this is the whole response that he posted to flickr. radical transparency, indeed.
paul was in the office until 1 a.m. last night, and i know because i was there. what came out of that is paul’s response and hopefully it answers a lot of questions.
everyone at 8020 is sleep deprived from all this, and have been posting frequently on flickr. here’s a great post from laura from this morning. she said a bunch of things that needed to be said, and i wish i’d said some of them. the part that i think is the most important is this,
“Many people are upset by the “re-writing of history” bit. I should point out that when Derek spoke of JPG magazine, he usually only spoke of he and Heather. You can see how that would be damaging to the other seven people making great effort to launch this publishing company. No mention of 8020 or the rest of us in conference presentations, most of our press exposure, etc. So when Derek says that Paul told him not to speak of that walk with his wife in BV park, it’s a twisting of a conversation.”
and finally, because jason linked to me, i will link to him. jason is, or rather was, a good friend of derek’s. he also works for 8020. this is his side of the story. you may not like it, but it’s honest. very honest.
